Electrolysis
Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal solution. This 100 years old method of hair removal has withstood the test of time! Any color of hair–black, gray, red, white–can be treated with electrolysis. Areas such as chin, eyebrows, lip, hairline, and ears can be treated with electrolysis. Electrolysis is done by trained electrologists utilizing the most up-to-date effective methods of sterilization, disinfectants, and antisepsis.
How Does It Work?
An electrologist inserts a fine probe into the hair follicle alongside the hair. A small amount of electric current is then delivered to the probe by an electronic device called the epilator. The electric current destroys the hair root by heat and chemical action. Hair grows in three different phases. Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. Hair is best eliminated in its growth cycle. Therefore, electrolysis requires a series of treatments. The treatment times and frequency will decrease over time as the amount of hair decreases.
What Does It Feel Like?
Depending on what area you have treated, the discomfort varies. You may hardly even notice the insertion of the probe, but the feeling caused by the insertion of the probe has been described as a slight sting. Many find this treatment very tolerable.
What Should I Expect?
Side effects are usually minimal, but may include some redness and swelling. Most patients return to their normal routine immediately. After treatment care should be followed. Your electrologist will go over this with you.
